How can I find out what the Society sells?                     

Just click on the relevant Purchases links on the left hand Shop menu. If you country is not there then please select the Other Purchases link. Each of the pages lists the items available and shows the prices for your chosen country & currency. 

In due couse photographs for all the items will be added to these pages as well as to the Stock Availability page. Clicking on the photographs will generally produce an enlarged image.

► Q.  How do I find out how much stock there is for an item?              

       A.  For most items information about stock levels can be found using the  

           Stock Availability link on the left hand Shop menu. Where "Low Stock"

           is shown against an item then you asked to contact the Merchandise

           Manager for information. You should also be warned that at times of

           Gatherings it may take us a little time to update stock figures.

           Because of the number of colour/size combinations for T shirts and

           sweatshirts it will always be necessary to check the stock situation with

           our Merchandise Manager.                                                                               

► Q.  Are there any extras?                                                                                                  

       A.  No. All the prices quoted include postage, packing and UK local taxes

     (VAT). We regret that the Society is not registered for VAT in the UK and

     that, as a result we sadly cannot offer tax free sales. 

► Q.  How do I order and pay for Merchandise?                                            

       A.  The three main ways or ordering and paying for Merchandise are:

            1. Mail your order and your personal cheque in any quoted currency

                to the Merchandise Manager at the address shown on our

                Contacts Page. Where stock is low it may be wise to contact the

                Merchandise Manager to reserve stock.

            2. Use the PayPal buttons on the Purchase pages to order and pay for

                 the items that you  require. When ordering

                 T shirts or Sweatshirts via PayPal will you

                 please send a separate messsage to the

                 Merchandise Manager  advising the colours

                 and sizes required. The PayPal system 

                 makes no attempt to check whether an item is in stock. 

            3. By arrangement members in the UK can order by e-mail and transfer

                 funds directly to the Society's bank account. If you wish to use this

                 method please contact the Treasurer.

                 Whichever method you decide to use please remember to check that

                 we have stock before sending your payment.

                 It is also normally possible to purchase stock at Clan MacThomas

                 Gatherings at Glenshee and at special events such as the Gathering

                 of the Clans in Edinburgh.  

► Q. Can I pay in a currency that is not listed on the price lists?

► Q. What about items with different Sizes and Colours?                             

       A.  Full details of sizes and colours can be found using the Colours and Sizes

           link on the left hand Shop menu. This page also has samples of the

           Ancient and Modern Tartans.

           When ordering relevant items please be careful to order the size, colour

           or Tartan type that you require. Please note that it is not possible to

           specify sizes or colours for T shirts or sweatshirts via PayPal. When

           ordering these items please always send a separate message to our

           Merchandise Manager. 

► Q.  Why are the prices not the same for the different Lady's Sashes?              

       A.  We have recently had to reorder the Ancient Tartan sashes and the new

           stock is of a higher quality. This and inflation explain the price difference  

           between the Ancient & Modern sashes. The Modern Tartan sash is 

           currently quite a bargain and the price will almost certainly have to rise

           once current stocks have been exhausted.                                                      

       A.  The Society will not charge members extra for buying merchandise using

           the PayPal sytem. However members might like to know that we do have

           to pay up to six per cent for using this service. For this reason we will not

           be routinely collecting membership fees via PayPal. 

       A.  The production of the book, The History of the Clan MacThomas, has

           been financed personally by Finegand himself and not by the Society.

           Orders and payments therefore have to be sent directly to the Chief. Full

           details of the arrangements were published in the 2009 edition of

           the Clach A' Choilich and can also be found on this website.
