| Clan MacThomas 40th Anniversary Messages On 18th May 1970 Andrew MacThomas of Finegand became the 19th Chief of Clan MacThomas. On the 40th Anniversary of this event branches and members of the Clan MacThomas Society sent the greetings below to their Chief and President. Finegand, Congratulations on your 40th anniversary On behalf of the European Branch, we thank you for everything you have done for the Clan and Society and await with eager anticipation to see what the next era will hold!
Finegand, On behalf or the US and Canadian Branch, we extend our sincere congratulations to you on this 40th anniversary of your becoming Chief of our great Clan! It is gratifying to know that we now have "home" in Glenshee which we can visit and meet with fellow clansmen on a regular basis. We appreciate your continuing attention to Clan and Society issues and the support you give to our activities in America.

Congratulations! Forty years as Chief is a great achievement. When you first mounted that historic Stone in Glenshee some 40 years ago I was proud to be one of the small crowd who hailed you as our new Chief. You have not disappointed us! You have revived the clan and developed a worldwide Society so that we are once again a significant part of Scotland's heritage. I am honoured to have been associated with you. Congratulations on the long-haul Finegand!! I've only been alive for 37 of those years, so I can really appreciate your hard work. I'm all the way out in South California though I think about you guys everyday and hopefully someday I can afford a trip out to meet all of you in person.
